About

For over 12 years, I’ve been making made to measure curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. What started as a hobby has turned into a business and there’s nothing I love more than listening to the radio and working on a project in my Buxton studio. Having also worked as a hairdresser, I now bring my creativity to custom curtains, and that’s where the name ‘The Window Dresser’ came from.

Tucked away in my Buxton studio, I make made to measure curtains, blinds and soft furnishings, working with a fabric of your choice. All curtains are interlined so can be a great way to keep older houses insulated. I can also make matching cushions or cover seat pads in the same material to tie the room together. From one set of curtains to eleven, I’ve worked on projects of all sizes — get in touch for a free consultation.

The Process

Working in Buxton and the surrounding area, the first step is an initial chat and consultation. At this appointment, I also take any measurements needed and provide advice on the quantity and type of material that will work well for your project, as well as great local places to buy from. After you’ve found a material you love, I’ll get to work producing your curtains or blinds. On average it takes around 2 weeks to produce a set of custom curtains or blinds.
